HealthSouth in Modesto, California, to Provide Physical Rehabilitation Services in Hospital Setting
MODESTO, California – HealthSouth Corporation recently broke ground on a 54,000-square foot, freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Modesto, California, at the northeast corner of Coffee Road and Mable Avenue.
The hospital will provide inpatient rehabilitation services including occupational, physical and speech therapies to patients who are recovering from conditions such as stroke and other neurological disorders, cardiac and pulmonary conditions, brain and spinal cord injuries, complex orthopedic conditions, and amputations.
Some of the benefits of receiving care through an inpatient rehabilitation hospital are:
- 3-5 visits per week by a physician
- Multidisciplinary team approach
- 24/7 oversight and availability of a Registered Nurse
- Nurses with specialty training and expertise in physical rehabilitation
- Three hours each day of physical, speech or occupational therapy
The development is expected to represent a $28 million investment in the community and, once open, is expected to create approximately 120 full-time jobs. The hospital is proposed to open by summer 2016.
HealthSouth Modesto will be HealthSouth’s third hospital in California, joining HealthSouth Bakersfield Rehabilitation Hospital and HealthSouth Tustin Rehabilitation Hospital. Additionally, HealthSouth expects to begin construction on a new hospital in Murrieta in the first quarter of 2017.
HealthSouth is one of the nation’s largest providers of post-acute healthcare services, offering both facility-based and home-based post-acute services in 33 states and Puerto Rico through its network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, home health agencies, and hospice agencies.
